Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy is published by the developer of Ancient Gate ("we", "us"). It explains how information is processed when you play the Ancient Gate mobile game (the "Game").
1. Information we process
Local save and progress data
Your game progress, settings and save data are stored locally on your device. We do not receive this data unless a platform backup feature applies (for example, iCloud or device backups managed by Apple under your settings).
No account required
You do not need to create an account to play the Game normally.
Rewarded ads (Google AdMob)
The Game offers optional rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. When ads are shown or requested, Google may process device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier, where permitted), approximate location (e.g. derived from IP address), ad interaction data, diagnostics and similar data in accordance with its own policies. Where required by law, we request your consent before personalised advertising, and you can make privacy choices through in-app consent options and iOS settings (including App Tracking Transparency).
Apple In-App Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive your full card details. We may receive entitlement and transaction information (such as product identifiers, purchase status and transaction identifiers) as needed to deliver and restore your purchases.
Technical diagnostics
Technical diagnostics (such as crash reports and performance data) may be processed to maintain stability and security of the Game, including through Apple's tools where you have enabled sharing.
2. Purposes of processing
- Providing the Game and its features
- Storing your saves and progress
- Processing, delivering and restoring purchases
- Showing optional rewarded ads and granting rewards
- Preventing fraud, cheating and abuse
- Complying with legal obligations
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
- Contract — to provide the Game and the purchases you request.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Game stable, secure and free of fraud or abuse.
- Consent — where required, for example for personalised advertising or tracking.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with service providers as needed to operate the Game, such as Apple (App Store, payments, diagnostics) and Google (AdMob advertising), and where required by law.
5. Retention
- Local save data remains on your device until you delete the Game or its data (and in any platform backups under your control).
- Apple purchase records are retained by Apple under its own policies.
- Any data we receive (for example, support emails or transaction information) is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, then deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability where applicable, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email below. Note that much of the relevant data is held by Apple or Google, and requests may need to be directed to them.
7. Your privacy choices
Where available, you can manage your choices through in-app privacy or consent options and iOS settings, such as Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and Apple advertising preferences.
8. Children
The Game is not designed to knowingly collect personal data from children beyond what is permitted under applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International transfers
Apple and Google may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA/UK. Such transfers rely on the safeguards these providers put in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
10. Third-party policies
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Google AdMob privacy and messaging
- Apple Privacy Policy
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the Game where appropriate.
